πΊπΈ I Finally Made It to America's Northwest Corner - Cape Flattery!
This weekend I visited the Makah Indian Reservation at the northwesternmost point of the continental US, checking off two iconic spots: Cape Flattery and Shi Shi Beach π (I've already shared details about the amazing Shi Shi Beach in my previous post - check my [Washington State] collection if interested!). πΆ Entry Pass: $20 for a special pass (valid until year-end) - no substitutes accepted for National/State Park passes π³. Cash/card both work. πΆ Parking: Small lot π - many park along the road. Toilets available. Trail turnover is quick since it's short. πΆ Hike: Easy 1.2-mile round trip (40-60 mins) with gentle slopes π - perfect for all ages! πΆ Lighting: Midday visits = harsh glare on left-side waters (washed-out photos) πΈ. Right-side views photograph better! πΆ Downside: SUPER remote πΊοΈ - pair it with other destinations to make the drive worthwhile! Pro Tips: π Visit at sunrise/sunset for magical lighting π¦ Pack snacks - no facilities nearby π§₯ Bring windproof layers - it gets breezy!
