🇺🇸 If You’re at UCLA & Don’t Know This Spot… I’ll Be Sad! 😭

Hop Woo, you’re just too good!! As a UCLA alum, I have to say — this is THE Sichuan food heaven in West LA!! When I first started school, I had no idea this place existed. A friend had to recommend it — tucked in a low-key plaza with no hype, yet so incredibly delicious. It’s barely even… Owner, please promote more! 🚀 🦞 Lobster Pasta — $13.99 Lobster for this price?? Unreal. The portion is massive — big chunks of lobster meat, feels almost too luxurious 😂 The noodles have a Cantonese-style vibe (as a Northerner, I skipped them, but Southern pals loved it!). 🐮 Boiled Beef in Chili Oil A must-order since college — still just as amazing! Huge portion, tender beef, spicy and satisfying. Pour some sauce over rice and you can easily down two bowls 🍚🔥 🐸 Double Pepper Bullfrog Another college favorite ❤️ Not many bullfrog spots in West LA — this one’s legit! Also love their pickled pepper bullfrog — generous cuts, super flavorful. 🐑 Lamb on Toothpicks Served piping hot, never disappoints. Not overly spicy, heavy on cumin — addictive and disappears fast! 🥔 Hot & Sour Shredded Potatoes Among all these heavy hitters, this dish steals the show for me!! Ever since my first visit in college, I’ve been obsessed — incredibly wok hei, tangy but refreshing, perfectly balanced vinegar. The texture is spot-on — MUST ORDER!! My mouth is watering just thinking about it… 📍 Hop Woo 11110 W Olympic Blvd, Los Angeles, CA 90064 🅿️ Free plaza parking (spaces are limited though). This place is so good that even after graduation, I still come back just to eat. It brings back memories of grabbing meals after early classes or during finals week. Owner, please open a Downtown branch!! 🙏 #HopWoo #UCLAeats #WestLAFood #SichuanHeaven #LobsterPasta #ComfortFood
