🇺🇸 Irvine Food | Pelican Grill 🦢🍽️
When it comes to "American-style" dining in Irvine, it’s hard to think of many standout spots—but this time, a friend recommended Pelican Grill up in Pelican Hill. We decided to try it for our anniversary, and here’s my honest review (no ads, just real experience!). 📍 Address: 22800 S Pelican Hill Rd, Newport Coast, CA 92657 💵 Price per person: 100–150 (could go above 150 if ordering specials) 🚗 Arrival & Parking Valet parking only—no self-parking. It’s complimentary, but remember to tip when picking up your car. 🍞 Starters Complimentary bread was warm and soft. We also ordered the Caviar Fries—crispy fries topped with caviar and creamy sauce. So delicious—highly recommend! 🍟✨ 🐟 Special of the Day: Fish The server described it as similar to sea bass—tender, juicy, and richly seasoned. Another strong recommendation! 🌊 🍝 Sausage Cavatelli Pasta Pretty average. The pasta was thick, and the meatballs lacked flavor. Not a must-order. 🥩 Grilled Prime Ribeye (Medium Well) My favorite dish of the night—just as good as the fish! The ribeye was incredibly tender and easy to cut. Definitely order this! 🔥 🍕 Wild Mushroom Pizza Wood-fired pizza with assorted mushrooms. Good if you’re a mushroom lover, but otherwise just okay—depends on your preference. 📌 Final Thoughts Must-tries: Caviar Fries, Ribeye, and the sea bass special. The rest are optional. This place is a safe bet—no disappointments! P.S. Ask to sit outside if you can—the ocean view is stunning! 🌅 (See P5 & P6) What’s your go-to dish at an American fine-dining restaurant? 🥩🍷 Or do you have a favorite special-occasion spot in Orange County?
