Just tried Affäre, a German fine dining restaurant in downtown KC, and here’s my detailed review with a casual vibe 😉: 🍺 Duvel Draft ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ A Belgian beer with a refreshing taste, rich foam, and a faint fruity aftertaste. Perfect to start with! 🍻 🥗 Appetizer 🫒 Charcuterie Board ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Paired wonderfully with wine 🍷. The ham was solid, and the bread was delicious. Honestly, this alone almost filled me up! Great for slow munching. 🍽️ Tasting Menu 1️⃣ Tuna Tartare with pickled avocado & sesame crisp ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Light and tangy! The avocado was slightly firm, and the combo was interesting. The sesame crisp was a bit hard but tasty. 2️⃣ Mushrooms with Crab Stuffing in hollandaise sauce & potato-leek confit ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Finished in two bites! The mushrooms were aromatic, and the potatoes were soft with a creamy sauce. LOVED it! 😍 3️⃣ Oatmeal Stout Braised Texas Boar Leg with mushrooms, bacon & spinach ⭐️⭐️⭐️ The first bite was great, but it got overly greasy. The pasta (green-colored, initially thought it was pepper 🫑) was okay. Mushrooms still shone! 4️⃣ Syrian Nutmeg Cake ⭐️⭐️⭐️ Walnut filling was nice, but way too sweet.
