🇺🇸 LA‼️ Just $30 Per Person for Michelin-Level Cantonese Food‼️
Life Is Like a Play in Pasadena is seriously delicious — and priced surprisingly reasonably! Went initially because of Daniel Wu’s recommendation, but the menu itself was a delightful surprise. 🍗 Truffle Shredded Chicken — $26 Rich truffle aroma, tender and springy chicken — the truffle flavor unfolds slowly in your mouth. This is Michelin-level quality — makes my mouth water just looking at the photo! ✅ Must-order. 🍄 Mushrooms with Foie Gras Paste — $18 Shocked by the price — foie gras paste for just $18! Crispy fried mushrooms, moist inside, coated in rich foie gras paste. 🐔 Crispy Skin “Bai Hua” Chicken — Half $36 / Whole $68 Crispy chicken skin wrapped around shrimp paste — a Daniel Wu pick! So flavorful — a unique taste you won’t find elsewhere. ✅ Must-order. 🐖 Black Pork Char Siu — $28 Fragrant black pork with no gaminess, coated in a rich black pepper sauce. Huge portion for the price — very fair. 🦐 Scallops & Shrimp in Sauce — $28 Large, fresh scallops and shrimp with tender asparagus. The scallops are super bouncy and delicious. 🍚 Wagyu Fried Rice — $42 Melt-in-your-mouth Wagyu mixed into perfectly separated fried rice grains. The Wagyu aroma lingers — so good! ✅ Must-order. Colette Pasadena (Life Is Like a Play) is located in a predominantly white neighborhood — nice ambiance, lots of locals come for a couple dishes and drinks. Very chill vibe. The owner mentioned ingredient costs have risen, but they’re keeping prices steady to stay true to regulars. At this quality, ~$30 per person is a steal — definitely coming back! Hope to run into Daniel Wu next time. 😄 #DanielWu #LosAngeles #LALife #LAEats #CantoneseFood #LACantonese #Truffle #FoieGras
