🇺🇸 LA | ⭐ Osteria Mozza – Consistently Delicious Italian

Located near Melrose, this popular Italian spot delivers exactly what you’d hope for – no weird foams or over-the-top creativity, just solid, thoughtful dishes with the chef’s personal touch ✨🧑‍🍳 🚗 Parking in the area isn’t easy, but they offer valet for $16. Total with tip came out to around $170 per person. Service was great – and kinda funny 😄 Every time we finished a dish, the server clearing our plates would say, “Good job!” And after we finished the duck leg: “Proud of you!” 🦆👏 Pacing was a bit slow, but totally acceptable. 🥗 Nancy’s Caesar A salad named after the chef! Fresh greens dressed with lemon and olive oil, topped with crispy bread, egg, and oil-cured anchovies. So refreshing with great texture and flavor balance. 🐙 Octopus Incredibly tender grilled octopus leg with a smoky, barbecue-like flavor. Perfect when eaten with the veggies underneath. 🍝 Oxtail Tagliatelle The pasta itself was a bit softer than I prefer, but the sauce was rich and deeply flavorful. The oxtail was fall-apart tender and melted beautifully with the cheese. So good, it made me want to book their pasta tasting menu right away! 🍄 Funghi Misti Mixed mushrooms stirred together with egg yolk and a spring onion sauce, served with crispy bread. So aromatic! Though I’ll be honest – not sure if it’s just me, but I still don’t totally get the “umami of mushrooms.” By the end, it started tasting a bit like black truffle to me. 🦆 Crispy Duck Confit The duck itself was super tender and juicy, though the skin wasn’t as crispy as I expected. Eating it alone felt a bit plain, but paired with the creamy vegetables and a mustard-side – it transformed into a whole new experience. 🍰 Tiramisu Absolutely heavenly! Rich, perfectly balanced between cream and sponge, and the addition of macadamia nuts took it to another level. Definitely confirmed: nuts + tiramisu = a winning combo. #LosAngeles #LAEats #LADining #MichelinStar #OsteriaMozza #ItalianFood #FoodReview
