🇺🇸 LA Food|Japanese Spot Osawa Shabu Shabu & Sushi 🍣
🍴 Osawa Shabu Shabu & Sushi 📍 77 N Raymond Ave, Pasadena, CA 91103 💰 Price: $35 – $150 per person When I was in Beijing, what I missed most was LA’s Japanese and Korean food — so as soon as I got back, I gathered my girlfriends for a feast! 👭👭🏻 Osawa used to be a low-key spot in Pasadena, but now it’s a restaurant — if you don’t have a reservation, expect at least an hour’s wait. Many Japanese restaurants in the US are adapted for Western tastes, focusing on ramen, hot pot, or sushi rolls — but as an ocean lover, I prefer fresh, authentic seafood and sashimi. Osawa’s sashimi is super fresh, with a daily special menu featuring ingredients flown in that day. 💰 The price range is wide because they offer affordable lunch specials (most under $35), attracting lots of nearby office workers. For dinner, the four of us focused on sushi — about 14 pieces each, plus two bottles of sake, appetizers, and dessert — around $130 per person. 🌈 Recommended Dishes: 🏆 🥇 Live Akagai (Red Clam) — My #1 of the night! I love its icy, crisp texture and that lingering taste of the sea. 🥈 Sweet Shrimp — Fresh, sweet, absolutely delicious 👍🏻 🥉 Uni (Sea Urchin) & Live Scallop — Can’t choose between them — both were amazing! We each ordered an extra portion. Our girl squad is perfectly aligned — we’re all die-hard uni fans! #OsawaPasadena #JapaneseSashimi #FreshSeafood #UniLovers #PasadenaEats #MustTryLA
