🇺🇸 LA Food Diary (Part 6)|Must-Buy Southern California Desserts
Here are some LA spots perfect for picking up edible souvenirs — take a taste of SoCal back to share with friends and family! Aliya Lavaland 📍 141 N Atlantic Blvd Ste 103, Monterey Park HIGHLY RECOMMEND! Their molten mooncakes are tear-inducingly good — soft, smooth, perfectly sweet, with rich oozy filling even without heating. Also love their mini solid versions. Brought back a bunch — says it all! 🥮 Great value — 6 pieces for $19. Different gift box sizes available — perfect as gifts! Bake Cheese Tart 📍 10250 Santa Monica Blvd #2900, Los Angeles The most fragrant cheese tarts I’ve had! Rich, creamy, not too sweet (except the coconut one is a bit sweeter). Other flavors are all amazing — also a great gift option. MeloMelo Coconut Pudding Now with locations in San Gabriel, Rowland Heights, City of Industry, and Ktown! When the SG spot first opened, I was blown away — the perfect balance of coconut sweetness and creaminess, smooth and melt-in-your-mouth. Most recommended: Whole Coconut Three-Way Pudding — eat the pudding + scrape the coconut meat 🥥 Also love the ube flavor! Porto’s Too many locations to list — you’ll find one near LA, Irvine, Disneyland, or Universal Studios! Huge selection — sweets are decent, but I’m here for the savory bites, perfect for sharing at work or parties. Must-trys: Meat Pie, Ham Croquette, Chicken Croquette, Chicken Empanada, Potato Ball®. Pastry fave: Guava & Cheese Strudel — most items around $1 each, unbeatable value! ⚠️ Very popular — order online ahead to skip lines! Millet Crepe 📍 2011 Sawtelle Blvd, Los Angeles Sadly not portable, but too good not to mention! Go for the signature caramel crepe — choose your fillings. Classic combo: strawberry + chocolate sauce + custard = YYDS 🍓🍫 Perfectly sweet and rich — my absolute favorite crepe in LA — promise me you’ll try it! #LAFoodFinds #LAEats #LADesserts #EatSouthernCalifornia #Souvenirs #MeloMelo #LAFoodie 🧁
