🇺🇸 LA Michelin Dating Night | Italian-Japanese Fusion at Orsa

Last week, my love 💞 and I had dinner at Orsa & Winston — an Italian-Japanese fusion spot. I was a little nervous at first… would fusion cuisine, especially at a Michelin level, really suit our Asian palates? Having lived in the US for 12 years, I’ve tried Bib Gourmand and even starred Asian-inspired places. As someone born and raised in Guangdong (with picky taste buds 🧐), plus my naturally strong "food god" luck 🍀, I often find high-end Asian fusion somewhat… underwhelming. Some upscale Chinese spots even make me struggle to swallow 😅. Orsa & Winston is cozy and unpretentious — no strict dress code, and tables fit 2–4 people. With an open kitchen and an omakase-style tasting menu, it blends Japanese presentation with Italian soul. The seasonal starter served in a chawanmushi-like egg custard showed clear Japanese inspiration, yet the flavors — like the main course of Italian ravioli (forgot to snap a pic 😂) — stayed true to Italian roots. The full meal unfolds over about two hours — if you arrive starving like we did, be ready for a leisurely pace 🕰️. It’s perfect for a relaxed date or business dinner when you’re not in a rush. I’m usually tough on food ratings (7/10 is solid for me), and considering the price, I’d give this 7.75/10. Highly recommend — Asians will likely enjoy about 80% of the dishes. As a foodie, I usually care most about flavor, layers, portion, aroma, and heart. But with my wife valuing ambiance, service, and vibes just as much 😂, our restaurant choices have to check every box (no more “hole-in-the-wall” dates unless I want trouble 🧎‍♂️). This place delivered on great food + great environment + great service — exactly the kind of spot worth sharing here! Until next time 👋🍷 #LAFoodFinds #LAMichelin #USFoodie #USTravel #BusinessDining #MichelinRestaurant #IVFUSA
