🇺🇸 Long Beach, LA|Boat Tour of the Harbor 🛥️

We started by exploring Shoreline Aquarium Park 🏞️ and stumbled upon this harbor cruise at the pier. Options included a Harbor Tour for $20 💵 and a Whale Watching Tour for $50/$55 🐋 (weekends $55). We went with the Harbor Tour! The boat had live commentary throughout the trip 🎤. We set sail through the channel between the lighthouse 🗼 and Shoreline Village, got up close to the Queen Mary ocean liner 🚢 and the dome-shaped cruise terminal behind it, then passed by the container terminal 📦 where two ships were docked—Wan Hai and COSCO container vessels. The Long Beach Port breakwater is the longest human-made dam in the world 🌍, with two exits. As one of the busiest ports in the US 🏗️, many ships anchor outside the harbor—mostly bulk carriers and oil tankers ⚓. We also saw the THUMS Islands 🏝️, three artificial islands used for oil storage by petroleum companies. On concrete buoys in the water, we spotted sea lions 🦭💦, and even a seagull flying alongside our boat at the same speed—perfect for clear photos! 📸✨ #LosAngeles #LongBeach #California #Shipping #BoatTour #LBPort #Cruise #ContainerShips
