🇺🇸 Los Angeles Eats | Osawa – A Must-Try Japanese Spot 🍣✨

🍴 Restaurant: Osawa Shabu Shabu & Sushi 📍 Address: 77 N Raymond Ave, Pasadena, CA 91103 💰 Price Range: $35–150 per person When I was in Beijing, I missed LA’s Japanese and Korean food the most—so as soon as I got back, I gathered my girlfriends for a feast! 👭👭🏻 Osawa is a low-key little spot in Pasadena that’s now become super popular—if you don’t make a reservation, expect to wait at least an hour! ⏳ A lot of Japanese food in the U.S. is adapted for Western tastes, focusing on ramen 🍜, hot pot 🍲, and sushi rolls. But as an ocean lover at heart, I prefer fresh, authentic seafood—especially sashimi! 🍣 Osawa’s sashimi is incredibly fresh, and they have a daily special menu featuring ingredients delivered that same day. The price range I listed is broad because they offer affordable lunch specials (under $35), which are great for nearby office workers. In the photos, our group of four focused on sushi—each of us had about 14 pieces, shared two bottles of sake, plus appetizers and dessert. Total came to around $130 per person. 🌈 Recommended Dishes 🌈 🥇 Live Akagai (Red Clam) 🥇 Number one goes to the red clam sashimi—I love its cool, crisp texture and that lingering taste of the sea. Definitely tonight’s winner! 🌊 🥈 Sweet Shrimp 🥈 Second place goes to the sweet shrimp—so fresh and sweet, absolutely delicious! 👍🏻 🥉 Uni (Sea Urchin) 🥉 Live Scallop I couldn’t choose between uni and scallop—both were amazing! We each ordered an extra portion. Our girl squad is totally in sync—we’re all die-hard uni fans! 💛 ✅ Yellowtail ✅ Toro (Fatty Tuna) ✅ Tamago (Egg Omelette) I have a habit: after eating sashimi, I always end with tamago. It’s the perfect sweet finish! 😋😋😋 ⚠️ Reservations: Use the Yelp app! ⚠️ A must-try spot in LA! 👍🏻 Have you been to Osawa? What’s your favorite Japanese dish in Pasadena?
