šŗšø Los Angeles Hotel | Love-Hate Relationship with W Hollywood
The newly renovated W Hollywood in 2024 presents a stark contrast: outside its doors lies the Hollywood Walk of Fame with homeless residents, while inside awaits an interior design paradise crafted by the Rockwell Group. š®š« Is this divided W Hollywood worth staying at? This review has all you need to know! š š æļø Parking Strategy Hotel parking is quite expensive - honestly, I'm still not used to paid parking at US hotels! š This hotel mandates valet parking at $72. šø Fortunately, there's a solution! The public parking lot just across from the hotel: š Navigate to: 1627 Vine Street From 6 PM to 6 AM, it's only $20 (see P7 for pricing) š Later I discovered there's also public parking directly across the hotel entrance - $30 overnight. Slightly more expensive, but super convenient for those with lots of luggage since it's just across the street! š§³āØ What's your best hotel parking hack? Share your money-saving tips below! š°š š Location & Safety ā Advantages: Right on Hollywood Walk of Fame - convenient everywhere! 10+ minutes drive to Universal Studios, also close to Hollywood Sign and Griffith Observatory š¬ ā ļø Notes: Homeless gatherings on Hollywood Boulevard, especially noticeable at night Strong urine odor in public parking areas, encountered mentally unstable individuals during daytime Overall feeling definitely less secure than Beverly Hills area šØ šØ Hotel Public Areas Completely renovated in 2024! Designed by famous Rockwell Group The lobby is super photogenic! Breakfast served here too (Ć la carte, no buffet) šø I personally love the design style - metallic elements mixed with greenery, incorporating vibrant Hollywood elements š“š šļø Room Experience Used suite certificate to upgrade to Fantastic Suite, over 70 square meters 8th floor room directly faces Hollywood Sign šļø Bathroom equipped with toothbrushes, cotton pads, but no slippers or bottled water by default - must call housekeeping to request them š° š Marriott Elite Member Benefits (ā Full of complaints) - No dedicated elite counter, must queue for check-in - Member benefits: choose points or breakfast credit (recommend credit, though only enough for coffee) ā - No executive lounge, no welcome gift in room, no turndown service Summary: Besides using points for rooms and suite upgrades, basically no elite benefits to speak of š Have you had similar experiences with hotel loyalty programs? Share your stories! šØš¬ š Final Tips 1. Definitely choose external parking - save $50 for a nice meal! š½ļø 2. Try to go out in groups at night, avoid areas with homeless gatherings 3. Actively request slippers and water - not provided by default 4.
