🇺🇸 Louisville Christmas Trip
Already dreaming of Christmas! Our first stop on the road south was Louisville, the largest city in Kentucky. D1 Arrived around 7 PM and headed straight to Claudia Sanders Dinner House (30 mins from downtown)—aka KFC Grandma’s Restaurant 🍗👵. After selling KFC, Colonel Sanders wasn’t happy with the new owners simplifying recipes to cut costs, so he opened this place near his home using his wife’s name and image. Here, they kept the original KFC flavor alive! We ordered the Claudia’s Chicken Special (original recipe) and the catfish (as recommended by our server). The restaurant had a cozy vibe with walls covered in photos of racehorse champions 🏇. Upstairs, there’s a small exhibition area. The food wasn’t mind-blowing, but it was solid and nostalgic! 👍 D2 Spent the day exploring downtown Louisville, known for its bourbon 🥃, horse racing 🐎, and the famous Louisville Slugger baseball bats ⚾! We visited the baseball museum, wandered through pretty streets, popped into a liquor store (even non-drinkers can enjoy bourbon-filled chocolates 🍫), and browsed cute local art shops. Later, we walked along the Ohio River—its calm, steady flow felt quietly poetic, almost like it was whispering stories of the past 🌊⏳. 📌 Note: Louisville is in the Eastern Time Zone. Next stop: Mammoth Cave 🕳️ (about 1.5 hours away, switching to Central Time!). #Louisville #Kentucky #RoadTrip #ChristmasVibes #USATravel #Bourbon #HorseRacing #Baseball #HistoricEats
