Louisville, Kentucky’s Largest City!
Day 1 We arrived around 7 PM and headed straight to Claudia Sanders Dinner House (30 mins from downtown) for dinner. 🍗✨ This place has a cool story: After selling KFC, Colonel Sanders was unhappy with the new owners simplifying recipes to cut costs, so he opened this restaurant near his home using his wife’s name and image – keeping the original KFC flavors alive! We ordered the Claudia’s Chicken Special (original recipe) and the catfish (server’s recommendation). The dining room was decorated with photos of racehorse champions 🏇, and there was an exhibit upstairs. The food wasn’t mind-blowing but was solid and nostalgic! Day 2 We explored downtown Louisville, known for its bourbon whiskey, horse racing, and Slugger baseball bats! ⚾🥃 Visited the Louisville Slugger Museum 🎯 Wandered through charming streets, bourbon shops (even non-drinkers can enjoy bourbon-infused chocolates! 🍫), and cute art stores 🖼️ Strolled along the Ohio River – its calm, timeless flow felt almost melancholic yet deeply poetic 🌊💭 Fun fact: Louisville is in the Eastern Time Zone. Our next stop? Mammoth Cave (about 1.5 hours away, switching to Central Time!). 🕰️🕳️ #Louisville #Kentucky #TravelUSA #RoadTrip #Bourbon #Baseball #HistoricEats 🚗
