🇺🇸 Maine Acadia National Park | 4-Day Chill Travel Diary 🌲🦞
Maine truly is "Vacation Land"! Acadia has it all—food, scenery, and vibes. Here’s my relaxed 4-day itinerary: 🏠 Accommodation: Acadia Cottages (Southwest Harbor) – tucked in the woods 🌲, 10-min walk to town. Quiet, clean, and cozy! ~$200/night for a studio. Book via Google. Run by a sweet couple who’ll even light a fire for you 🔥. 🍽️ Food & Grocery: 🦞 Thurston’s Lobster Pound: Live 3lb jumbo lobster (~$50) – meaty and fresh! 5/5 🛒 Hannaford Supermarket: Island’s biggest store 🛍️ – grab blueberry soda + Fox chips + $10 lobster rolls! 4/5 🍔 Rodick’s Takeout: Lobster burger + solid sandwiches. 4.5/5 🍕 Colonel’s Restaurant & Bakery: Seafood pizza 🍕 (cheesy but salty – pair with margarita!). 4.5/5 🍟 Eagle’s Nest Restaurant: Fried clam + lobster roll (no steamed lobster tho). 4.5/5 🫐 Blueberry Pie + Popovers + Kombucha: Perfect breakfast combo! Regret not bringing more back 😭 🗺️ Itinerary: Day 1: Drove from Montreal → Acadia 🚗 (scenic but slow roads after Sherbrooke). Stopped in Stratton for lunch + Newport lavender farm 🌸. Shopped at Hannaford before crossing to the island. Day 2: Hiked Beehive Trail 🧗♂️ → explored Bar Harbor → blueberry ice cream 🍦. Walked Bar Island at low tide → snagged last-minute 5:30 PM tickets for Cadillac Mountain summit (sunset views!). Lucky! 🌅 Day 3: Bass Harbor Head Lighthouse ⚓ (go early for parking!). Japanese Garden 🌸 (even cloudy days are photogenic!). Jordan Pond + South Bubble Trail – easy hike through misty forests 🌫️. Day 4: Ocean Path (Thunder Hole → Otter Point → sunbathing on rocks ☀️). Fog rolled in just as we left! Drove back to Montreal by 9 PM. 💬 “Only travel can heal my broken spirit… Hope this energy lasts through lab work and funding season!” 🧪😅 #Acadia #Maine #TravelDiary #LobsterLover #PhDlife #MontrealTravel #EastCoastUSA 🍁📸🌊
