πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡Έ Memphis 2-Day Trip β€” A Fun & Flavorful Adventure! 🌞🎸

Just spent two days in Memphis, and overall, it was a great experience! Day 1 Arrived around noon and headed straight for Central BBQ πŸ–. The pulled pork was a bit dry, but the ribs had that tangy-sweet vibe β€” pretty tasty! Spent the afternoon at the Memphis Zoo 🐾. Walked for 2.5 hours under the blazing sun πŸ˜…. The pandas weren’t out, but we saw plenty of other animals. Loved the aquarium β€” everyone (including the fish) was super chill, probably because of the heat! Next, we visited the National Civil Rights Museum (the former Lorraine Motel where Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. was assassinated) ✊. We watched an introductory video and learned about the history of the Black civil rights movement β€” powerful and educational. Stayed overnight at the Big Cypress Lodge inside Bass Pro Shop 🏨. The room had a fun deer head mount 🦌 β€” perfect for photos! It was a cool experience, but probably not the best value. Memphis has plenty of other good lodging options too. Day 2 Started the morning at Mud Island River Park 🏞️, located on the Mississippi River. You can stand between Tennessee and Arkansas β€” and further south lies Mississippi! Beautiful views. Headed back to explore Bass Pro Shop 🎣 β€” saw huge fish and even baby alligators! 🐊 Lunch at Gus’s World Famous Fried Chicken πŸ— β€” so Southern! We tried the fried green tomatoes πŸ… and both dark & white meat chicken. It was juicy inside, though the coating was pretty thick. Everyone agreed it was better than Hattie B’s! In the afternoon, we toured Sun Studio 🎀 β€” where Elvis recorded his first song! Our guide was great, and we even got to touch the original microphone… hoping for some luck! πŸ™Œ Didn’t have time for Graceland, but we ended the day at the Memphis Rock β€˜n’ Soul Museum 🎢. Took a slow stroll down Beale Street in the warm breeze β€” reminded me a lot of Broadway in Nashville, to be honest πŸ˜„. Even though there were some homeless people around, the city felt generally safe. πŸ‘Œ A short but sweet trip β€” Memphis, you surprised us! 🀠 #Memphis #TravelUSA #SouthernUS #BBQAdventure #SoloTravel #MusicCity
