π Memphis, Tennessee β One Day Trip β
Though I used to live in Knoxville, TN, this was my first time visiting Memphis! I had a chance to explore the city briefly during a work trip. π Accommodation: The Memphian Highly recommend! π¨ Itβs relatively new with a cool retro vibe and even has a rooftop bar πΉ. Located near the University of Memphis in a pretty safe area. πππππ π Food: 1οΈβ£ Mulan Asian Bistro β multiple locations around the city 2οΈβ£ Dim Sum King β the roast duck and dim sum were delicious! π¦π₯ Both are solid choices if youβre craving Asian flavors. π΅ Beale Street You can still feel the echoes of its glorious past. A taxi driver told me it gets packed during New Yearβs Eve β and yes, Iβve seen it on the news! π Though it feels a bit quiet these days, the energy is still special. βπΎ National Civil Rights Museum π« $18 per person This museum is built around the motel where Martin Luther King Jr. was assassinated. The entrance looks like an old motel β almost easy to miss! The exhibits are powerful, especially the final section where you see the preserved room and balcony. A deeply moving experience. πππππ π³ Mud Island River Park Free entry! π This park features a massive scale model of the entire Mississippi River basin. At the far end, youβll find the Memphis sign β a perfect photo spot! Standing there, looking out over the great Mississippi, really calmed my mind. ππ πΈ Other places worth visiting: Graceland β Home of Elvis Presley! πΊ #USATravel #Tennessee #Memphis #TravelUSA #SouthernVibes #CivilRights #MLK #Blues #Elvis #FoodieAdventure #HotelReview #StudyInTheUS πΊπΈβ¨
