๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ Memphis One-Day Trip ๐ŸŽตโœŠ๐Ÿ—

We started from the outer areas and made our way downtown โ€” from Stax to the Civil Rights Museum, tried the famous local Gusโ€™s fried chicken, wandered Beale Street in the rain, and ended the day at the iconic glass pyramid for fishing lovers! The next morning, we visited Mud Island River Park ๐Ÿž๏ธ and enjoyed pastries at Sweet Musings Bakery & Cafe โ€” so delicious and close to Chinese tastes! ๐Ÿฅฎโ˜• ๐ŸŽท Stax Museum of American Soul Music Normally $18 per person, but we got in for free thanks to Family Day! ๐ŸŽ‰ We even caught a childrenโ€™s choir performance and a live band ๐ŸŽค. The museum dives deep into the history of blues, R&B, and rock & roll that developed right in Memphis. A must-visit for music lovers! ๐Ÿ‘จ๐Ÿพโ€๐Ÿฆฑ National Civil Rights Museum Built at the site of the motel where Martin Luther King Jr. was assassinated. $20 per person, with rich exhibits โ€” you could easily spend 2+ hours here. It powerfully illustrates the journey of Black Americans from being treated as second-class citizens to fighting for and gaining equality. Itโ€™s moving to realize many of these events happened just 60โ€“70 years ago โ€” within their grandparents' lifetime. ๐Ÿ— Gusโ€™s World Famous Fried Chicken We tried this popular spot โ€” the server was super friendly! Loved their Fried Green Tomatoes ๐Ÿ…. The chicken was good (with a natural spicy kick) though not mind-blowing. ๐Ÿšฆ Beale Street & FedEx Forum It was raining, so we made it a quick visit ๐ŸŒง๏ธ. Beale Street is lined with bars and souvenir shops. Just around the corner is the FedEx Forum, home of the Grizzlies ๐Ÿ€. There was an R&B singer performing that night โ€” lots of fans heading in! ๐ŸŽฃ Bass Pro Shops at the Pyramid We ended the day at this iconic riverside pyramid ๐ŸŒƒ. Itโ€™s an outdoor gear store with indoor ponds filled with fish and even alligators ๐ŸŠ! You can take an elevator to the top for a panoramic night view of Memphis โ€” $8 per person. Thereโ€™s even a hotel inside! Closes at 8:30 PM. Memphis felt smaller than I expected, and some areas outside the city felt a bit deserted. Parking was easy everywhere we went ๐Ÿ…ฟ๏ธ. Since we stuck to tourist spots, we felt safe the whole time. All in all, Memphis is a nice small city perfect for a stop on a road trip! ๐Ÿš—๐Ÿ’จ #Travel #Memphis #USASouth #SoulMusic #BBQ #RoadTrip
