πΊπΈ Must-Eat in KC & Overland Park: Huge Portions, Low Prices! π½οΈπ₯
I was in the Midwest for work and was blown away by the warmth of Kansas people β and the food! Every spot I tried exceeded expectations. Here are my favs: π Jumbo Noodle Bar (Japanese Hot Pot & Ramen) Rainy March in KC calls for something warm and brothy βπ² I got the Sichuan Spicy Pot β so flavorful and packed with ingredients! The portion was huge β two guys next to me were sharing one pot. Service was top-notch: they noticed I was wearing white and offered me a bib π Rating: π―/π― π Princess Garden (Chinese β Peking Duck) $45 for a whole duck β you can choose two styles! We had the duck meat + salt-and-pepper fried bones (+$15 for duck bone soup) The pancakes were more like tortillas, not traditional, but still good. The portion was GIGANTIC β the soup bowl was as big as my face ππ² A bit salty, but hey β you can get proper Peking duck in the Midwest! π¦ π Shack (American Breakfast) Great spot for unlimited refill coffee in the morning βοΈ Their menu names are so fun β made me want to try everything! Classic American breakfast with fresh ingredients. Portions are, again, HUGE! π₯π³ π Joe's Kansas City BBQ A KC classic! You have to try the Burnt Ends β the texture is indescribably good π€€π The seasoned fries were a delicious surprise. The ribs were a bit salty, but still tasty. Portions are massive and prices are totally fair! π Hen House (Local Kansas Grocery Store) They even have PINK PINEAPPLE! π In LA itβs $40β¦ here itβs only $8.99! My colleague brought two back to Boston π A kind staff member even cut it for us β so helpful! The store is clean, not crowded, and well-stocked. β¨ BTW: KCβs new airport is now open β modern, beautiful, and full of Chiefs spirit! ποΈβοΈ #KansasCityEats #KCFood #BBQLover #TravelEats #Foodie #MidwestFood # AffordableEats #KC
