🇺🇸 Must-Try Hidden Gems in Portland ☕️ Delicious & Affordable

I originally visited Portland for Oregon’s stunning summer scenery 🏞️, but I was completely blown away by the food scene! From flaky croissants 🥐 and aesthetic coffee shops ☕ to authentic Asian cuisine 🍜, Portland offers incredible flavors without breaking the bank. Here’s your ultimate food guide—each spot is totally worth a visit! 1️⃣ Tanaka – Japanese Sandwiches Ever seen a Japanese katsu sando in the U.S.? Here it is! 🤩 We tried the pork cutlet toast sandwich, strawberry cream sandwich, and ube bun—each perfectly balanced in sweetness and savoriness 🥪🍓. Great for Asian taste buds! Located in downtown Portland and opens early. Highly recommend! 2️⃣ Less & More Coffee We visited the newsstand location—the only coffee shop open on Independence Day! ☕🇺🇸 Ordered the Cloud Creamy Coffee and Ube Latte. Super creamy, not too sweet, almost like dessert in a cup 🍠💜. At $5 a cup, it’s an absolute steal! 3️⃣ Case Study Coffee Love the retro, artsy vibe here—perfect for chatting or getting some work done 💻📚. Sipped a Jasmine Tea Latte; the floral aroma was so unique and refreshing 🌸✨. A must-try for tea lovers! 4️⃣ Twisted Croissant & Patisserie A popular Portland chain known for looks—but the taste? Mind-blowing! 😍 The Red Berry & Pistachio Croissant stood out 🥐💚❤️—filled with nutty pistachio cream and tangy red berry jam. Went back for another… but it was sold out 😭. Go early! 5️⃣ Luc Lac Vietnamese Kitchen Our first meal after landing—open late and perfect for a post-flight feast! 🍜🌙 With 1.5k+ Google reviews 📲, this place lives up to the hype. Authentic flavors, chic industrial setting—a definite must! 6️⃣ The Gorge White House A surprise find on the Mt. Hood loop! 🏔️🍒 This pick-your-own fruit farm + cidery + winery offers stunning views of two snow-capped mountains ❄️🏞️. If you get a chance, try their burger 🍔—fresh, generous, and so satisfying! 7️⃣ Salt & Straw Portland’s famous ice cream pioneer 🍦! Unique flavors you won’t find anywhere else. We tried Honey Lavender and Pear & Blue Cheese—yes, blue cheese! 🍐🧀 Order ahead on your phone for quick pickup 📱⏳. Portland’s food scene may be understated, but each of these spots brings something special to the table—with style, flavor, and soul 💖. ✨ #NorthAmericanLife #GlobalEats #FoodieCapital #PortlandFood #PortlandTravel
