🇺🇸 My taste buds were conquered by Bourbon in Louisville!
Louisville’s Bourbon District is truly the perfect place to experience the flavor of Kentucky whiskey. 🥃 The area isn’t very big—attractions are just a few minutes' drive apart—and I spent a day casually exploring. 😌 Of course, it would be even more fun with a small group of friends for a mini tour. 👯♂️ The entire historic district is only about two kilometers long, but it’s packed with bars and distilleries. 🏛️🍸 Famous ones include Kentucky Peerless, Evan Williams, Michter's Fort Nelson, Angel’s Envy, Old Forester, and Rabbit Hole. I visited a few of them and here are my honest thoughts. 💭 Evan Williams If you’re looking for an entry-level yet classic bourbon, this is the place. 👍 It’s the second best-selling bourbon in the U.S. (after Jim Beam), affordable at around $30-40 a bottle 💰. Perfect for casual drinking or mixing an Old Fashioned. 🧊 I tried a glass—it’s reliable, not surprising, but just right for those days when you want a drink without overthinking it. 😌 Basically, it’s like Fenjiu or Red Star Erguotou in China—classic, budget-friendly, and widely loved. 🥃 Kentucky Peerless Located at the western end of the street, this is a family-owned modern distillery 🏠. They specialize in small-batch single-barrel whiskey and rye whiskey, with a purer flavor thanks to their non-chill filtering process, which preserves more of the whiskey’s oils and proteins. 🔬 I drank it neat, and it was smooth. 😋 Overall, it feels more high-end, perfect for slow sipping 🥃. A must-try for serious whiskey enthusiasts. ❤️ Michter's Fort Nelson I ordered a flight and tried all four of their offerings, including their famous Michter’s 10 Year Kentucky Straight Bourbon and US #1 Barrel Strength. 🧪 Priced at over $60, it was totally worth it 💎. The four whiskeys ranged from 45.7% to 54% ABV, and the got smoother with each sip—you could really feel the charm of aged whiskey. 🍯 The Bomberger’s Declaration had a particularly rich caramel flavor. 🍮 The bartender provided great service, explaining each whiskey in detail and even serving some corn kernels and peanut-like snacks. 🌽 It was a fun experience 😄. #TravelCocktailList #Bourbon #USBars #Whiskey #WeekendDrinks #HiddenGems 🥃
