Authentic Malaysian Cuisine🔥Superb Hainanese Chicken ✨Malaya Kitchen Asian Fusion Today, I tried out Malaya Kitchen, a fusion restaurant specializing in Southeast Asian flavors. The overall experience was pretty good, with a few dishes worth trying and a couple of misses I'll share about the dishes I ordered! ✨Hainan Chicken This is the signature dish, and almost every table orders it! The chicken is sliced thickly and is not dry at all. It pairs perfectly with the restaurant's homemade Hainanese sauce (garlic-infused with a hint of sweet and sour), which really enhances the flavor. 🍗 The chicken rice is already seasoned, with a savory taste that's full of aroma. When paired with the complimentary fried shallot sauce, it's incredibly fragrant! The dish comes with broccoli🥦 and cucumber🥒, which are refreshing and help cut through the richness. The portion is quite large; if you're dining with someone, one chicken dish plus an extra bowl of chicken rice will leave you very satisfied! ✨Satay Chicken (4) The chicken itself is lightly seasoned and not particularly tender, but it's still enjoyable overall. The dipping sauce is a slightly sweet peanut sauce flavor, which isn't cloying and makes for a good appetizer. 🍖 ✨Hot & Sour Soup This small bowl of soup is pretty standard, without any standout features. If you're not particularly in the mood for soup, you might want to skip it and save room for the main dishes, which would be a better choice. 🥢 ✨Vegetable Pho I wouldn't recommend this one. The broth is quite bland, lacking in spice and depth of flavor. It tastes a bit like plain noodle soup... Even though it's a vegetarian option, it shouldn't be this uninteresting. The vegetables are fresh, but overall, it feels quite thin and unexciting after a few bites. 🍜 Overall, Malaya Kitchen is still worth a visit, especially for the Hainan Chicken, which is really well done. The portions are generous, and if you choose the right dishes, you'll have a delightful meal! ✨Malaya Kitchen Asian Fusion 📍8200-400 Providence Rd, Charlotte, NC 28277 #NorthCarolina #HiddenGems #NCFoodie #CharlotteDining #CharlotteNC #HainanChicken #Satay #MalaysianCuisine #CharlotteAdventures
