Charlotte πΊπΈ Chinese Food Review | All-You-Can-Eat Gem vs. Overhyped
Tried two Chinese restaurants in Charlotte - one buffet delivered amazing value, while another popular Sichuan spot was disappointing. Here's my honest take for your reference! π½οΈ Highly Recommended: Fantastic Value Buffet π Restaurant: Asian Buffet & Grill π Address: 11032 E Independence Blvd #4997, Matthews, NC 28105 π Hours: 11:00 AM - 9:00 PM π΅ Pricing: Monday-Friday Lunch: $12.99 Monday-Friday Dinner: $16.99 Saturday & Sunday All Day: $22.99 π Why It's Great: Huge Variety: Spacious restaurant with tons of options! Seafood includes crab, shrimp, mussels, and crawfish - and they have spicy Sichuan-style preparations that really hit the spot. Surprising Finds: They even have steamed sea bass - pretty rare for a buffet! Must-Try: Their noodle soup is absolutely delicious! Great flavor and generous with toppings - definitely have a bowl. Verdict: This is the best value buffet I've had recently - left completely satisfied! π΄ Mixed Experience: Underwhelming Sichuan Food π Restaurant: Chuan Wang Fu (Sichuan Palace) π€ The Experience: Pros: Really fast service - dishes came out quickly. Cons: The flavors don't live up to the "Sichuan" name - barely any spiciness or proper saltiness, everything leaned sweet. Seems overly adapted for American tastes. π² Dish Breakdown: Saliva Chicken: Okay, the sauce was decent. boiled Intestine & Tripe : Very bland - we asked them to re-cook it with more spice, but it still lacked any real heat or fragrance. Braised Pork Belly: The server asked if we wanted it spicy, we said yes, but it still tasted sweet. Home-Style Tofu: Average. Verdict: Not recommended if you're looking for authentic Sichuan food. Overall, pretty disappointing. #CharlotteChineseFood #NCFoodReview #Buffet #SichuanCuisine #FoodReview
