๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ OH | That Rainy Night Out in Cincinnati

The last stop of my work trip earlier this year was a Sunday washed in soft, steady rain. I left my phone aside, stayed in my hotel room, and listened to Dynamic Duoโ€™s entire discography โ€” lying down, by the window, sipping coffee โ˜•๏ธ. It was a deeply peaceful, beautiful day. ๐ŸŒง๏ธ When night fell, the rain stopped. I stepped out, feeling a little uncertain, and made my way to the river. A cold wind cut through me, but then I saw them โ€” high school kids celebrating their prom inside a vibrant club by the shore ๐Ÿ’ƒ๐ŸŽ‰. Through the windows, they flashed us โค๏ธ with so much joy. In that moment, their warmth cut straight through the chill. From a distance, I saw the John A. Roebling Suspension Bridge lit up against the night, and I drove toward it. ๐Ÿ“ John A. Roebling Suspension Bridge This bridge, connecting Ohio and Kentucky, carries a beautiful, weathered dignity that matches its age. (It was here, crossing it alone later, that I began to truly fall in love with bridges.) I took this photo from a parking lot on the Kentucky side โ€” thereโ€™s something quietly conversational about this place. If time could stand still, Iโ€™d sit right there on the ground, listening to the rhythmic sounds of passing cars, imagining how different it must look at dawn. (On the way back, I nervously drove through a stretch lined with police cars ๐Ÿš“ โ€” but made it through just fine.) ๐Ÿ“ Cleveland Iโ€™ve always passed through Cleveland in a hurry. My first impression of the city came from the show Hot in Cleveland โ€” though sadly, most of it was shot on a soundstage. Still, under overcast skies, I caught glimpses of lush green suburbs and stopped downtown for coffee. ๐Ÿ“ The Arcade โ€“ a stunning mall opened in 1890 ๐Ÿ“ Rising Star Coffee Roasters โ€“ inside the arcade โ˜•๏ธ After leaving Cleveland, I drove into Indiana, devoured a giant bowl of pasta ๐Ÿ๐Ÿ˜‚, then headed back to Chicago. Before my flight, I watched the sunset from my Toyota โ€” a quiet, fitting end to more than four months on the road. (Memory so fuzzy, I had to scroll through my camera roll to piece it all together ๐Ÿ˜…) #Cincinnati #RainyNights #RoadTripVibes #MidwestMemories
