🇺🇸 Richmond VA | Ugly Dumpling – A New Chinese Spot in Town 🥟✨

Hey everyone! 👋 Went to check out the newly opened Ugly Dumpling in Willow Lawn last weekend with some friends. Parking was pretty easy 🅿️. We got there around 1 PM and ended up waiting almost an hour to be seated — not because there were no tables (there was a whole empty section!), but because they were understaffed 😅. Since we were starving after the wait, our group of four went all out and ordered EIGHT dishes — and finished everything in record time ⚡️. With so many dishes, I won’t review each one in detail, but feel free to ask in the comments if you’re curious! Highlights 🥢: Soup Dumplings (Xiaolongbao): Handmade by the aunties! Took a while to come out, but they were served with ginger strips — pretty authentic and tasty 👌🧡 Fried Rice: Not too oily and pretty fragrant! Both the pork chop fried rice and the chicken fried rice were solid — better than a lot of other places I’ve tried. Not mind-blowing, but definitely delicious and worth reordering 🍚🔥. Noodles: The mixed noodles were decent, though a bit salty for my taste. Overall, it’s a nice spot with all dishes scoring a pass or above 👍.
