🕵️♂️ DC → Richmond Day Trip (Detective Conan Edition!) 🚂✨
Left DC at 7:20 AM and took the Amtrak to Richmond, VA—arrived at 10 AM at Main Street Station! From there, it’s just a 7-minute walk to The Poe Museum—the highlight of my trip as a Detective Conan fan! 🖤📚 This charming garden-style museum welcomed me with Edgar—the adorable black cat you 🐈⬛—who guided me through each cottage showcasing Edgar Allan Poe’s life and works. In the garden, I met another cat: Tib the tuxedo kitty 🐄🐾, super energetic and loves climbing trees! After the Poe Museum, I headed to the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts (VMFA) 🖼️, mainly for the Fabergé Exhibition. I first learned about Fabergé from the Detective Conan movie The Last Wizard of the Century 🥚🔍, and finally seeing the real eggs was breathtaking! The one in the photo was a gift from Tsar Nicholas II to his wife—and I think it’s the one that matches the movie’s egg the most! In the afternoon, I visited the American Civil War Museum beside the James River 🇺🇸⚔️—highly recommended for history lovers! Then I strolled along the Canal Walk 🚶♀️🌊—a bit underwhelming but has some historical markers worth checking out. I walked all the way to the State Capitol downtown and noticed Virginia is one of the few states that calls itself a “Commonwealth”—any history buffs know why? 🤔 Finally, walked back to Main Street Station and caught the 5 PM Amtrak back to DC. An intense but fulfilling day trip! 💥 #Richmond #EdgarAllanPoe #DetectiveConan #CivilWar #ACSFall2025 #DC #Fabergé #TravelDiary
