🇺🇸 Richmond VA Weekend Guide | Near DMV & NC 🌿🗺️
Day 1️⃣ 🌉 Belle Isle Park at Belle Isle Parking Lot and cross the pedestrian suspension bridge — it’s fun and photogenic! 📸 The island itself is mostly shaded 🌳 with limited river views. Portable toilets only. There’s an abandoned hydroelectric plant visible through a rocky passage. 💡 Tip: Walk the bridge even if you skip the full loop! ⚰️ Hollywood Cemetery Massive and atmospheric — best explored by car 🚗. Two U.S. presidents are buried here. Offers scenic overlooks of the James River. 🖤 Stop by Rest in Pieces near the entrance — a quirky shop selling oddities and curios. 🗽 Chimborazo Park Features a mini Statue of Liberty and historic markers from a Civil War medical hospital. 🍽️ Alewife Near the park — a creative seafood spot 🦪 with a small but interesting menu. ⏳ Reservations recommended! Day 2️⃣ 🛍️ Carytown Eclectic shopping and dining street — perfect for wandering and grabbing a bite 🧁☕. 🖼️ Virginia Museum of Fine Arts (VMFA) Free admission! Don’t miss the Fabergé Eggs 🥚 and the sculpture garden 🏛️✨. 🌷 Maymont Split into three zones: Farm/Wildlife Trail, Mansion/Garden, and Nature Center. *Note: Wildlife Trail & Mansion are closed in 2025 🚧. Only Nature Center requires a ticket. Gardens are pleasant in cool weather — but don’t expect wow factor. 🌿 Lewis Ginter Botanical Garden A beautifully maintained botanical garden — great for flower lovers 🌸🌵. 🚫 James River Pipeline Walkway is currently closed. #Richmond #Virginia #DMVgetaway #NCtrips #WeekendTravel #HistoricRichmond #ArtAndNature #TravelTips2025
