🚂 Old Sacramento State Historic Park: Seems like most tourists come for the Railroad Museum. The station exhibit has several classic trains, somewhat similar to the Liberty State Park Railway Museum in Jersey City. The whole area has a traditional American downtown parking fee. 🏰 Sutter’s Fort State Historic Park: The starting point of the California Gold Rush. The park isn’t huge, but there’s a lot to see and read—can be finished in about an hour. Too bad there were no staff in the rooms to explain the history. 🧧 Locke Historic District: The only remaining Chinese-built rural town in the U.S., established in 1915. Stopped by on the way back to the South Bay from Sacramento. Only a couple of streets to explore, but it’s fascinating. floor is closed 😶 (much of Locke’s history has to be looked up online).
