🇺🇸 Salt Lake City|Downtown Rooftop Restaurant 🏙️🍽️
Located atop the Downtown Hyatt Regency, this spot offers great daytime views with snow-capped mountains in the distance and a pool nearby. ❄️🏊♂️ They recently launched the Alpen Globe Brunch on weekends—each dish is served in cute little globe-shaped containers, making it super Instagram-worthy! 📸🌍 The menu features many local ingredients, like elk from northern Utah farms. 🦌 They also serve a whole roasted pig 🍖 from a local farm—a cross between Iberian and another breed, claiming to be the first in Utah to do so! Just book one day in advance, and it’s enough for 10 people. Oysters 🦪 | M Oysters Loved these! Even for someone who doesn’t usually enjoy raw oysters, these were small, sweet, and tender. Topped with coarse pepper, red onions, and chives—a wild flavor explosion paired with the oyster’s delicate sweetness. Tuna Crudo 🍣 The fruit pairing changes often—sometimes with blood orange and smoked pistachio oil (interesting!), other times with radish (pretty basic). It always looks beautiful, but the fish quality is mediocre—bland and lacking freshness. Shrimp & Grits al Ajillo 🦐 A Spanish-inspired seafood barley risotto. The barley is chewy, and the sauce has a surprising tanginess. Served during lunch hours. Duck Confit Canelons 🥘 Most duck confit I’ve had is French-style, but here it’s paired with pomegranate and pistachio—a classic Middle Eastern combo usually seen with lamb. With duck, it’s intriguing! Crispy sage replaces mint leaves. The duck was a bit overcooked, but the creativity shines.
