🇺🇸 Salt Lake City|The Bar Snacks Here Are Seriously Good! 🍸✨

Great food seems to be a Utah bar tradition! I recently discovered another bar that’s worth visiting even if you’re not drinking—just for the food! 🥂 Unlike previously recommended spots like White Horse or Prohibition, which offer full meals, this "Post Office" 📮 bar specializes in bar snacks—but each one is full of surprises! What makes them special is their clever integration of less mainstream Asian elements into Western-style small plates. Taro Scotch Egg 🥚 A classic Scotch egg is wrapped in minced meat, breaded, and fried, but here they use taro paste instead of meat! The outer layer is crispy and thin, and it comes with a side of Lao Gan Ma sauce—translated as "Happy Lady Sauce" 😄. Tuna Tartar 🍣 A slightly Thai-inspired dish with pickled mango adding a touch of Mexican flair. The green sauce is made from mint, parsley, and lemon juice—refreshing but a bit salty. Perfect as an appetizer before a meal, but if you’re having it alone with Riesling, you’ll need good company to chat with! Shrimp Ceviche 🦐 Ceviche is a Peruvian 🇵🇪 appetizer where raw fish or shrimp is "cooked" in citrus marinade. The marinade, called "Tiger Milk," is heavy on lime juice, with celery, cilantro, onion 🧅, and more. But wait ‼️ They added pickled watermelon rind ‼️ It’s the first time I’ve seen watermelon rind in a U.S. bar! Unlike the crunchy texture we’re used to, it’s juicy and soft—almost like pickled white peach but tangy and salty. Paired perfectly with shiso leaves—so appetizing! Foie Gras au Torchon 🦆 My first time trying duck liver with zero gaminess! It’s creamy, rich, and expertly prepared with dry white wine, topped with flaky salt. Served French-style with cherry sauce. The real surprise was the black pickled peppercorns on top—a totally new flavor for me. They’re mildly soft with no sharp spiciness, just a gentle savory aroma. I didn’t drink since I was driving, but note: Japanese whiskey 🥃 is 20% off every Wednesday! This place is a sister restaurant to the nearby Takashi. Cost: ~$60 per person Parking: Street parking available Ambience: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Post Office Place 📍 16 W Market St, Salt Lake City, UT #BarHopping #100BarsChallenge #BarSnacks #SaltLakeCity #FoodChallenge #FoodDiary #BistroVibes #FoodShare #WeekendFun #TrendyBars #HiddenGems #CulinaryCreativity #NoDrinkNoProblem
