🇺🇸 San Antonio Korean Food | Better for Takeout Than Dine-In 😅
Before I start, full disclosure: the overall dining experience here wasn’t great, and the service felt pretty casual (in a not-so-good way). The food was okay overall, so I’ll keep it short — honestly, I’d recommend getting takeout instead of eating in. 🥡 🍲 Soft Tofu Kimchi Seafood Stew When it arrived at the table, it looked so inviting — bubbling, bright red, and full of aroma! The stew combines soft tofu and kimchi, simmered to perfection. It’s perfect with a bowl of rice 😋. That first spoonful delivers a tangy, spicy kick, with the kimchi’s sourness blending beautifully with the gochujang warmth — super comforting! 👍 The tofu soaked up all the flavors and was wonderfully silky. I’d give this a solid 9/10! 🥩 Grilled Galbi (Short Ribs) I had high hopes for this one! It looked fantastic — that classic Korean marinade, glossy and aromatic. The flavor was sweet and savory, great with rice. But sadly, the meat was pretty tough and cut too thick. Some parts were still very red inside and seriously undercooked 🥺. The texture was chewy and fibrous — not the tender, juicy galbi I was hoping for. Also, the raw onions underneath felt a bit lazy and underprepared 🤷🏻♀️. The banchan (side dishes) were standard and complimentary, just like most Korean spots. The kimchi in the small dish didn’t taste super fresh 😅, but the other sides were pretty good. Overall, the food is passable — but between the so-so service and basic interior, I’d say… just order it to-go! 📦 📍 Arirang Korean Restaurant #SanAntonioEats #KoreanFood #TakeoutRecommended #HonestReview #SATXFoodie
