πΊπΈ Solo Trip in the US | Must-Visit Museum in Baltimore: AVAM π¨β¨
Hey everyone! Iβm a solo female travel photographer trekking across the world with one backpack and lots of curiosity πΈπ. (Check my pinned post for my schedule!) I spent two days in Baltimore β a city known for its challenges, but this museum absolutely blew me away: American Visionary Art Museum (AVAM) β dedicated to self-taught artists! Itβs playful, experimental, and wildly creative. π« Tickets: $16/person π Hours: 10:00 AM β 5:00 PM (Closed Mon & Tue) π Address: 800 Key Hwy, Baltimore, MD 21230 Donβt let the ticket price scare you β it includes access to two buildings! ποΈ Main Building: Covered in shimmering glass mosaics β¨ β this is where you buy tickets. The exhibits (spanning 3 floors) focus on works by self-taught artists, often touching on African American stories. Vibrant, bold, and deeply expressive π. ποΈ Gift Shop (on the first floor): So fun! Full of quirky, whimsical souvenirs β way more interesting than typical museum shops π. πΆββοΈ Second Building (to the right after exiting): This is where the magic happens! Mind-bending installation art π Interactive exhibits (you can crank, spin, and play with them!) A bathtub filled with pasta ππ β yes, really! Two giant assembled cars ππ§ β part of Baltimoreβs annual kinetic sculpture race (where people build wild bikes and vehicles from recycled materials and race them downtown!). Perfect for photos, laughs, and feeling like a kid again πΈβ€οΈ. #MuseumMustSee #AVAM #Baltimore #OffbeatArt #SoloTravel #USAMuseums #InteractiveArt #VisionaryArt #TravelDiary #MuseumHoppers πͺπ§΅
