🇺🇸 Study Abroad Plog｜A Full Day in Salt Lake City

The classic Yellowstone route starts from SLC — you can cover a lot here in just one day! 👣 Temple Square Under renovation, so you can only view it from a distance. 👣 Utah State Capitol Looks similar to other state capitols, but with mountains in the backdrop — very Utah! 👣 Stansbury Bay A pink salt lake — requires about 30 mins of off-road driving (be careful on the rocky path!). Avoid midday — even with sunglasses, the glare is intense! The lake is a soft pink and beautiful; many people go boating here. 👣 World’s First KFC Near Chinatown — not much special except a bronze statue and some history displays. My friend said the chicken is juicier than in Minnesota — maybe psychological? 😂 👣 Cathedral of the Madeleine A Catholic church — couldn’t explore much due to an event. 👣 Eagle Gate Drive-by landmark — quick photo stop. 👣 Salt Lake City Public Library Stunning views of the mountains through floor-to-ceiling windows — so peaceful for reading. 🛍️ City Creek Center A bright, semi-outdoor mall — great for home goods and women’s fashion. 🛍️ Arc'teryx & Salomon Outlet Basically one store, small but good deals if you’re not after the latest hype items. 🛍️ Patagonia Outlet Even better — larger, with new and past-season items, plus clearance sections (extra discounts!). 🛍️ Healthy Pets Salt Lake City Pet parent heaven! Full of dog treats, toys, and food. They have a self-serve section for snacks like chicken feet, duck necks, mussels, etc. Staff were super sweet — kept giving free samples! 🍚 Eiko Cafe Delicious Jiangnan-style flavors — not huge portions but everything tastes fresh (you can hear wok-frying in the kitchen!). Highly recommend. 🍚 UMI Japanese Shabu Shabu Good service, AYCE with yakitori option (can be seasoned Chinese BBQ style). Broth is mild though. 🍚 Meet Fresh The SLC location was bland — not worth it. 🍚 Aboutea Overhyped — okay to try, but not a must. 🍚 Delice Bakery Amazing Napoleon cake — strawberry flavor!
