Father Martin and Bishop Solis make the cathedral such a warm, wonderful traditional place of worship and practice for roman catholicism. I love The Cathedral of the Madeline it's played a monumental role in my success and recovery. Being homeless throughout these last ten years it's never turned me away. Although My home parishes have switched around over the years (Our Lady Of Guadalupe Rose Park and Saint Joseph The Worker in west Jordan my other two home parishes and practices of worship, based on where I live In a given year. Regardless of my locality- I still take at least one day per week to travel to the Cathedral to attend mass. I also travel to the cathedral for all holy days of obligation and major holiday masses, confession etc. The Catholic church and the cathedral of the Madeline have been huge supporters of my fitness life, my recovery, and sobriety as well as councilors to my family and I love and cherish them with all my heart for their unconditional support! They now off r a rosary group for those suffering from addiction. The cathedral is one of the most beautiful Parishes in the world, the moment you enter the church you feel the holy Spirit, the peaceful protective spirits of all the angels and saints and unity of our diverse community as the ministry and clergy welcome all and I recommend to all new and seasoned baptized practical Catholics and any one whom doesn't identify with a specific denomination to call the diocese and give our church and community a try. We practice religion based on the oldest traditions in the days Christ was born to the days leading up to his arrival on palm Sunday through the week of Easter (good Friday when he suffered death for our sake and our salvation and was buried to when he rose again on third day Easter Sunday and ascended into heaven where he currently is seated at the right hand of God the father almighty to come again one day in glory to judge the living in the dead as we all know his kingdom shall have no end . In the name of the father, the son and the holy spirit Amen. Please come see our world class cathedral and join our...

The Cathedral of the Madeleine is truly a gem—an awe-inspiring experience from start to finish. The architecture alone is breathtaking, with its Neo-Romanesque exterior and dramatic Gothic interior. But what really sets this cathedral apart are the incredible artifacts and artistic details inside.
The moment you step in, you're surrounded by history and reverence. The altars, statues, and sacred relics are beautifully preserved and displayed with care. The stained glass windows are not just decorative—they're storytelling masterpieces that light up the entire sanctuary with vibrant color and meaning. The Stations of the Cross, carved in exquisite detail, draw you in for quiet reflection. You can sense the craftsmanship and devotion in every corner.
The cathedral also houses rare religious artifacts and historic items that connect you to centuries of Catholic tradition. From intricately embroidered vestments to centuries-old crucifixes, each item has a powerful presence.
Whether you’re there to attend a service, enjoy a concert, or simply explore, the spiritual and cultural richness of this cathedral is unforgettable. Highly recommend it to anyone visiting Salt Lake City—you don’t have to be religious to appreciate the beauty, history, and sacred atmosphere of this...
Read moreThe church is beautiful and worth seeing but the stations of the cross are modern and don't seem to fit the original architecture of the building.
If you are going to Mass and are a traditional Catholic you might be disappointed with the lack of reverence to the Eucharist and our Lord's precious body. Father Diaz was the presiding priest the day I was there. First he plucked the Body of Christ from the monstrance and walked off at the conclusion of adoration which seemed very disrespectful since I am used to a more reverent treatment of our Lord. Then during communion no one was allowed to take off their mask to receive our precious Lord's body. People just walked off with the Eucharist in their hands and fiddled with their mask after carrying our Lord several meters before partaking in consuming Him. Some people consumed the Eucharist while they were at the side of the church, others walked off down the side isles with Him in their hands. It was shocking to see the irrevence this priest promotes and knowing there are particles of Jesus' precious body scattered throughout the building.
My review is mixed. Yes, it's worth seeing this place. But if you are a practicing Catholic that believes in the true presense Of Jesus in the Sacrament you will find it upsetting during Mass if they continue...
