🇺🇸 Thanksgiving Trip Day 5 – Memphis | Blues, Booze & BBQ 🎸🍖🥃
We drove from New Orleans to Memphis, passing through Jackson—a quiet little town where we didn’t stop for long. 🌟 Central BBQ Once we arrived in Memphis, we headed straight to this highly-rated BBQ joint. And wow… Americans really know how to live 😂🍖! The food was so damn satisfying—messy, meaty, and absolutely worth it. 🌟 Beale Street This place gave me major "Back Lake Bar Street" vibes (like Beijing's Houhai), but with a bluesy twist 🎶. Unfortunately, with the winter chill and rain, it wasn’t very lively. One end of the street has the Orpheum Theatre 🎭, where a long line was forming—probably a show stealing the crowd tonight. While walking, I helped a family take a group photo—and I really regret not asking to jump in for a pic with them 😔. “Better to try and regret, than regret not trying.” Next time I’ll shoot my shot—even if there’s a chance of rejection 📸✨. Overall, downtown felt pretty quiet… Lots of empty parking spaces hint at both its past glory and present struggles 🏙️🅿️. As the hometown of Blues & Rock ‘n’ Roll, Memphis clearly shines brightest in the summer ☀️. Imagine catching a game at the FedEx Forum 🏀, then heading to a bar on Beale Street for live blues, a cold drink 🍺, and heated debates on how awesome Ja Morant is 😤🏀. That’s the dream! This short visit just sets the stage for next time—when we come back for the full Memphis experience! 🎶💙 #Memphis #Blues #BBQ #TravelDiary #BealeStreet #RoadTrip #USA #SouthernVibes
