🇺🇸 Travel Diary / Little Rock
After my experience in Memphis, I expected Little Rock to be super sketchy and rundown too—but it totally wasn’t! 😮🌧️ Well, except that we ran into a crazy rainstorm those few days. The downpour was so heavy on the highway I could barely see the road… I really thought we were gonna be stuck there! When we arrived, the streets were quiet and super clean 🍃💧, with lots of greenery and a fresh vibe after the rain. Compared to Memphis, there are a few more high-rises—not a ton, but it feels more modern. Most buildings are classic red brick though, with a rustic charm. The next morning, we headed early to the Little Rock River Market in downtown. It wasn’t open yet, so we admired it from outside 🏛️👀, then went all out taking photos by the bridges. Pretty up close, though not exactly breathtaking. 📍 Highly recommend the Gateway Bridge Walking Biking Trail for some cool bridge shots! We also strolled by the riverfront park where we met some… aggressive Canadian geese 😅🦆 Almost got chased! The Arkansas River looked kinda shallow and murky yellow—maybe because of the gloomy weather. Since it was so chilly, we decided to buy jackets. 🧥🛍️ Scarlet—this store is a must-visit!! It’s like a curated boutique, and the owner has great taste. They carry several well-known brands. I couldn’t leave empty-handed! Lunch was at Three Fold Noodles + Dumpling Co. in Pleasant Ridge 🥟🍜☕. I liked it better than the downtown location—bigger beef portions, less crowd, and they even serve coffee! Overall, Little Rock felt wealthier and less sketchy. Driving through rolling hills with tall trees on both sides was so scenic 🚗🍂, and the neighborhoods had a cozy, almost artsy vibe with beautifully designed (and probably expensive!) houses. It’s quiet here… kinda sweet and wholesome actually. Mostly white population, which gave it a distinct feel that’s hard to put into words. #LittleRock #USATravel #StudyAbroadLife #HiddenGems #SmallTownVibes #TravelDiary
