🇺🇸 Washington DC → Baltimore Day Trip Guide 🚄🦀
When people hear "Baltimore," their first reaction is often about safety concerns — but we decided to brave it during our 4-day DC trip to see for ourselves! Verdict: Tourist areas during the day are very safe! ✅ 🚄 Getting There: Took the MARC Train from Union Station to Baltimore Camden Station. Tickets can be bought at machines inside Union Station — they’re flexible with no strict date/time limits. The ride is about 1 hour each way. 🏟️ First Stop: Right outside the station is Oriole Park at Camden Yards ⚾ – a must for baseball fans! Check out the team store for souvenirs. 🌊 Inner Harbor: Just a short walk away! Strolled along the waterfront and saw historic ships and a WWII submarine — now turned museums. You can buy tickets to board: Historic Ships in Baltimore USCG Lightship Chesapeake USS Torsk 🐠 National Aquarium is highly recommended – perfect for families! After walking, cool off with an Italian Ice from Rita’s – so refreshing! ❄️ 🏞️ Federal Hill Park: Close to the harbor – great green space with awesome elevated views of the city. 🎨 American Visionary Art Museum: We didn’t have time, but it looks fun and quirky! Definitely on the list for next time. 🇺🇸 Fort McHenry: Took the free Blue Line Banner Route bus from Inner Harbor to Fort McHenry National Monument. Highly recommend buying a ticket to learn about U.S. history and the story behind the Star-Spangled Banner! 🎶🕊️ 🦀 Food Highlight: Couldn’t miss Maryland’s famous blue crabs and crab cakes! We went to L.P. Steamers (check my last food review for details!). Other highly recommended spots: Phillips Seafood Nick’s Fish House Blue Moon Cafe (Brunch) Café Dear Leon (Bakery) 🥐🍳 🚆 Headed back to DC by train – another perfect day! ☀️❤️ #Baltimore #BaltimoreFood #BaltimoreLife #DayTrip #USATravel #TravelSafe #ExploreMaryland
