🇺🇸OC🇲🇲 Hidden Gem Southeast Asian Burmese Cuisine‼️
It's truly not the most photogenic, but Southeast Asian food never disappoints! 🍛 Was wondering what to eat for lunch, opened the map and found this spot with a 4.7-star rating!! Over 500 reviews and still such a high score—it can’t be bad, right? Saw it labeled as Burmese cuisine on Google Maps 🇲🇲 got curious and decided to check it out immediately. As soon as I saw the front of the shop, I knew this place was the real deal. Super local, with a retro, timeless vibe to the decor. ✨ It was my first time trying this cuisine—classic Southeast Asian flavors. Curry and spices take center stage, with a savory aroma, and the balance of spices is just perfect. 👌 One of their signature items is this tea leaf sauce—kind of like oil-marinated tea leaves. The plating is simple, nothing flashy, and the colors aren’t particularly vibrant—even filters can’t save it 😅… But surprisingly, the taste is on the lighter side—not as heavy or intense as it looks! Maybe the reason Burmese food isn’t super popular is that… it’s just too authentic? 😂 No extravagant presentation, no fancy gimmicks—just real, heartfelt cooking. The place is family-run: the owner is the chef, and when he has time, his son helps out front. 👨🍳 Have you ever tried Burmese food? If not, you’ve gotta experience this underrated gem! 📍 Irrawaddy Taste Of Burma Price: around $20-30 per person. It’s located in a small plaza in Garden Grove—stop by if you’re passing by! #orangecounty #food #irvinearea #losangelesfood #gardengrove #orangecountyfood #irvinefood #usfood #hiddenrestaurant
