🇿🇦 Johannesburg | Safe City Tour on the Red Bus 🚌✨

Johannesburg—one of South Africa’s capitals and a city infamous for safety concerns. I spent 3 days & 2 nights here, navigating carefully (Uber only + high alert), and left unscathed! 🚶 Citywalk Highlights 🚍 Red Tourist Bus (R299 / ¥120 for a day pass) Safer & more efficient than solo taxis (covers more sights + audio history guides). Route spans wealthy suburbs & townships—like Gotham City in real life! 📍 Must-Visit Stops: 1️⃣ Apartheid Museum (R170 / ¥68) Powerful insight into SA’s racial segregation history (English-only exhibits). Time needed: 2-3 hours (my only stop). 2️⃣ Constitution Hill Mandela’s former prison + historic tours. ⚠️ Stay cautious—area can be risky. 🚖 Transport Tips ✅ Uber/Bolt (Bolt is cheaper; cash/card accepted). Park Station → Norwood: ~R40 (¥16) → Airport: ~R130 (¥52) 🚌 Port Elizabeth → Joburg Bus (Intercape/APM): R340 (¥136) | 15-hour overnight ride. Departs PE Railway Station at 4:30 PM, arrives Park Station at 7:30 AM. 🏡 Accommodation Charlie's Spot Norwood (R425 / ¥170) Clean private room, but no kitchen access (host lives onsite). Safe neighborhood, close to restaurants/supermarkets. 🍽️ Food & Coffee ☕ Bootlegger Norwood Great coffee (cold Americano had wine-like notes!). Try: Steak & multigrain rice (R138 / ¥55) (skip the tough steak—go for chicken). 🍷 PROUD MARY Fancy vibe, but overpriced (R345 / ¥138 for 350g steak). Better for group dinners. 🥐 Seattle Coffee Company Solid espresso (R38 / ¥15), but croissants are meh. #Johannesburg #TravelSafe #SouthAfrica #RedBusTour #SoloTravel #FoodieFinds
