Seattle Coffee Company — Restaurant in Gauteng

I went here with a friend for a cool beverage. It is located just below Food Lovers Market and has many great spots to sit by with a spectacular view of the outside. The establishment was very clean, the windows were very clear which added to the atmosphere. The decoration is typical to that of a Cafe, lots of wood with dark accents and warm lights.

The service was average, nothing particularly notable about it. The time I went was around 15h00 on a weekday and it was fairly quiet. There is a seating area where students typically work and it seems like a lovely place to get lost in your work.

The beverages we ordered were the Iced chocolate mint, and Iced berries. These are two slushies. I had the Iced berries and it was okay in terms of flavour, it had little flavour. There were far too many pips in the drink for my liking but since the berries are blended directly, it couldn't be helped. I think if honey was added to the drink it would at least make it more flavourful, or simply picking better fruit would make a difference.

Quality of service has really gone down. I've been a frequent customer here going on 2/2 and a half years. But the new staff really creates an unpleasant environment. Eg. Today I was early for a meeting there. So I seated myself, plugged in my devices necessary for the meeting. I was checked on and stared at by staff as if I was commiting some crime by sitting there and not ordering immediately. ±15 minutes in one of the staff built up courage to ask me what am I doing there. After explaining that I was just waiting for someone and will order shortly. I was instructed not to charge there because the plug points were for customers laptops, etc and I was using electricity. I unplugged my items, messaged the person I was meeting with and left, because clearly they didn't care about a customer, just their obvious agenda that unless you order you can't be seated. Really good coffee, outdoor seating, free underground parking (although it is a hassle to get into the parking lot and sometimes takes a while for the guards to scan your drivers license and vehicle registration) but it's an alternative to street parking. I have always enjoyed this brand of coffee and the customer service at this branch is excellent. They are following Covid-19 protocols, always wear masks and the place is very clean.
