πποΈ Nagoya Pre-Read | Takayama & Shirakawa-go
Approximately a 2-hour journey to reach: π Takayama, Hida Absolutely adore Takayama, would definitely revisit. It's a town with an Edo-period vibe, filled with many interesting little shops. The Miyagawa Morning Market (sells fresh agricultural products) ends at noon. Many tourists really bought a box of apples... For lunch, I had the group tour recommended Takayama Ramen. π½οΈ Kura Shokudo Ryu-Ryu Thought a single slice of beef wouldn't be enough, but it turned out to be just right. After a satisfying meal, I strolled around the old streets of Takayama, and an hour flew by in an instant. Didn't have time to taste SAKE, so I just picked up a bottle. There's also a must-visit spot for history enthusiasts here. π Takayama Jinya It was a daikan (magistrate's office) from the Edo period, essentially the office of officials. Although it was very cold and we had to take off our shoes to walk inside, it was truly possible to see many cultural relics. Plus, the garden was truly beautiful. Time was really limited, so I suggest everyone should spend a whole day in Takayama to enjoy it slowly next time. Next, it's a two-hour bus ride to: π Shirakawa-go First, I went to the observation deck where staff would help you take photos. But being alone, I felt awkward and didn't get one taken, haha. I had high expectations for Shirakawa-go, it being a World Heritage Site and all, but after walking through, the impression was that it's just an outwardly cute little village. #MyHiddenTravelRoute #JapanTravel #JapanTravelGuide #NagoyaTravelGuide #NagoyaFood #Nagoya #NagoyaTravel #TravelNotes #SoloTravel #Travel #SoloRomance #LifeSnippets
