10/5🦌 Highway 395's Most Beautiful Fall Foliage Report

Half-day itinerary 🚗: Departed from Bishop at 12 PM ➡️ 30 mins to North Lake ➡️ 15 mins to South Lake 📍North Lake 🔴🟤 • At peak foliage but leaves are already falling! 🍂 Feels like more will drop next week—maybe because of the first snowfall this Friday, plus the temperature drop, rain, and wind! ❄️🌧️ • We arrived around 1 PM—sunny with super high visibility ☀️, but the lake reflections weren’t very clear. Morning probably offers better views! Felt like stepping into a Mac wallpaper 🖼️! There’s a downhill path leading to the lakeshore, perfect for a stroll. 🐕 Didn’t expect my pup to LOVE splashing in the water! 🐾 Let him roam a bit on a long leash—he happily hopped around and turned into a little muddy water dog by the end 😂. 🧭 Navigation: 【North Lake Day Use Parking】 📍South Lake 🟡🟠🔴 • PEAK foliage, absolutely stunning!! 🍁 The drive to the South Lake parking area was breathtaking—golden leaves everywhere, perfect for stopping anytime for photos 📸. 🐕 Not ideal to bring dogs down to the lakeshore—it’s quite steep and not very safe for furry friends. The lakeside was sparkling and serene 💙—so ideal for relaxing and lying back to enjoy the view. 🧭 Navigation: 【South Lake Wildflower Trail】 ☁️ Weather: Friday night was super cold (coat weather!), but weekend days were warm—even comfortable in short sleeves occasionally. Next week will definitely be colder—don’t forget a thick jacket! 🧥❗️ This trip also included a visit to Lake Tahoe—absolutely gorgeous right now, the water is incredibly blue! 💙💙 🌊 If you prefer a chill 3-day trip, consider adding Tahoe to your itinerary like we did!
