2-Day Canberra Itinerary: Food Recommendations

📍 As a foodie who prioritizes eating no matter where I travel, even though I only spent two days in Canberra, my radar was fully tuned to hunting down delicious eats. Kinn Thai 🔥🔥🔥After arriving in Canberra by bus, I headed straight to Kinn Thai. It’s in Canberra Centre, a 10-minute walk away, and by 11:45 am (when it opens), there was already a decent queue. Dishes (sorry, forgot their English names): Beef curry: Huge chunks of tender beef, generous portions mixed with soft, mushy potatoes. Pairing it with rice was incredibly satisfying. Yum hot pot: Sour and spicy tom yum soup, super appetizing. The shrimp were delicious and plentiful, and the warm broth hit the spot. Pad Thai: Their stir-fried noodles are a bit sweeter, but still tasty—chewy and glutinous, which I absolutely loved. Drinks: Hot Americano (recommended), Thai milk tea (not recommended). We were stuffed, and the total came to 91 AUD. Yumko I saw lots of recommendations for this place on Xiaohongshu, and since I was craving Korean food, I gave it a try. It’s truly a great value for money! Dishes: Jajangmyeon (pork version): Well-seasoned, though the noodles were a bit mushy and not chewy. Overall, still pretty good. Fried chicken: Highly recommended! We got the cheese sweet-spicy flavor, which had a hint of cinnamon. Kimchi pancake: Strongly recommended!!! So delicious—we couldn’t finish it, so we packed it up, and it made a great late-night snack. Stone pot bibimbap: A huge portion with tons of side dishes, though it was a bit bland. Total for two: 84 AUD. But we couldn’t finish it—portions are massive. Two to three dishes would be enough for two people. Biangbiang I passed by on the first night and saw people eating outside—the oil-splashed noodles looked amazing, so I went the next morning. Oil-splashed noodles: As pictured, super fragrant. You can add extra chili oil, and one portion is more than enough. Seafood and vegetable rice noodles: A lighter option, with little meat or seafood—just a simple, refreshing noodle soup. I love rice noodles, so I thought it was great. Two-in-one meat (roujiamo): Shredded potatoes + signature two-in-one filling. Highly recommended! The bun was ultra-crispy—I’m obsessed! Total: 37 AUD. Yumko We got back late in the evening and wanted something warm and soupy, so we went for their spine stew. The 56 AUD spine stew, with an extra order of rice cakes, was basically a table staple—everyone seemed to order it. The portion was enormous, with at least 10 big spine pieces. We were stuffed and still left with 3 large pieces. ANITA GELATO There was always a long line whenever I passed by, with lots of local grandparents. The next day, we wandered over after dinner to try it. I got pistachio flavor. For 7.5 AUD, the small cup was piled high, and the pistachio flavor was incredibly rich. We kept raving about how good it was—definitely recommend giving it a try! ❤️❤️❤️ #RestaurantRecommendations #FoodGuide #IceCream #CanberraFood #DailyEats #CanberraLife #Canberra #AustralianFoodCheckIn #CanberraFoodHunt
