3-Day Seattle to Portland Road Trip Itinerary 🚗

Where to go for the weekend? Over the Independence Day holiday, we hit the road with friends and three dogs for a fun-filled 3-day trip to Portland! Here’s our itinerary and tips for a pawsome getaway: Day 1: Scenic Coastal Drive 🏖️ 📍 Route: Bellevue🏠 → Cape Disappointment State Park → Astoria-Megler Bridge (drove across) → Wreck of the Peter Iredale → Ecola Point Viewpoint → Cannon Beach → Portland 🚗 ~6.5 hours total (with stops). The state park requires a Discovery Pass. 🐕 Dog-friendly spots: All stops welcome dogs! Ecola Point and Cannon Beach were especially photogenic. 🍖 Evening: Arrived at our Airbnb (~7 PM), grilled in the backyard. Highly recommend Portland Airbnbs—affordable, cozy, and in safe, quiet neighborhoods. Day 2: Exploring Portland 🏙️ 🛍️ Woodburn Premium Outlets (Tax-free shopping! Lululemon, UGG, Zwilling, ECCO were steals.) 🌸 Portland Japanese Garden (tickets required, no dogs) 🌹 International Test Rose Garden (Free! Dogs allowed outside.) 🏰 Pittock Mansion (Historic + skyline views) ⛪ The Grotto (Serene gardens) Day 3: Nature & Waterfalls 🌲💦 🏞️ Trillium Lake (Stunning Mt. Hood views! ~1hr loop trail.) 🌊 Multnomah Falls (Pro tip: If Recreation.gov tickets sell out, enter via the alternate highway exit—no reservation needed!) 🏛️ Olympia Washington State Capitol Building (Quick stop on the way home) ☕ Coffee Recs: Less and More (Must-try Tiramisu Latte!) Case Study Coffee Coava Coffee Roasters 🍽️ Food Recs: Chin’s Kitchen (NE Chinese comfort food) Bing Mi (Savor the jianbing crepes!) #Portland #PortlandEats #PortlandTravel #DogFriendlyTravel 🌟
