3 Days in Savannah for Labor Day in September 🎉
3 Days in Savannah for Labor Day in September 🎉 🅿️ On Sundays and holidays, all "pay at meter" parking spots are free! When you see garages marked "public parking," it’s not certain if they’re free—keep an eye on the signs~ 🥸 Historically, Savannah was an important trading port! Cargo ships sail from the Atlantic Ocean into the Savannah River, and cotton was priced and traded here. A 1-mile × 1-mile area south of the river is both a residential district and a hub for all attractions, making it super easy to explore~ Recommended Attractions: Highly recommend visiting the visitor center first! The staff will introduce Savannah’s attractions in great detail, and provide various maps and brochures—they’re a lifesaver for planning your itinerary 📚 Savannah History Museum—we didn’t buy tickets to go inside, but the exhibition in the hallway at the entrance was fascinating! For example, it explained the origin of ice cream: Marco Polo saw the Emperor of China eating a mixture of ice and milk, brought this idea back to Italy, and that’s how gelato was born 😲—learned something new! Don’t miss the free ferry! Enjoy the view of the Savannah River with the wind in your hair—it’s relaxing and perfect for photos 🌊 Savannah must be amazing around Halloween! There are tons of ghost tours advertised around town, sounds thrilling 🎃 😬 We tried Savannah Seafood Shack. It’s $16 per person, but there was actually very little seafood in the big plate—instead, potatoes and corn were filling enough 😂, not the best value. 💬💭 Looking for locals or Savannah experts to answer this! There’s a "Waving Girl" statue by the river. It’s said to honor a girl who voluntarily went to the river for 44 years to wave at sailors on every incoming ship. So why did she keep doing that? I’m really curious 😅 #Savannah#Georgia#USA#AmericanTravel
