While Chicago is Illinois' most famous city, I’d been before—so this time I headed to Springfield! 🏛️ Springfield, the capital of Illinois, is a city rich in history and political significance. It’s best known as the home of the 16th U.S. President, Abraham Lincoln, who spent much of his adult life here. That’s why Springfield is often called the “Land of Lincoln.” I visited the Lincoln Home National Historic Site 🏠 – the house where Lincoln lived for 17 years before becoming president. Today, it’s a beautifully preserved historical site where visitors can step inside and learn about Lincoln’s family life and legacy.
