🌸 Springfield, IL: A City Filled with Lincoln’s Presence

Springfield is the hometown of the 16th U.S. President, Abraham Lincoln. Though it’s a small city, you’ll find Lincoln’s portraits and sculptures everywhere. There are several Lincoln-related attractions to explore based on your schedule. We chose to visit the Lincoln Home National Historic Site 🏡. At the visitor center, a guide leads you through the house — see the living room, study desk, and kitchen in Figures 1a, 2, and 3. Lincoln-Related Spots: 📍 Lincoln Home National Historic Site 📍 Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library and Museum 📍 Lincoln Tomb State Historic Site Also check out the Illinois State Capito. Personally, I found it a bit too ornate and not very aesthetic 😅… but it’s still the active capitol building! It’s located near Lincoln’s home. There’s also the historic Old State Capitol — now a museum — worth a visit.
