59-Day Road Trip Across 48 States β Day 10: Louisville ππΊοΈ
Todayβs journey was quite interesting β starting in Missouri, passing through Illinois and Indiana, and finally arriving in Kentucky. Four states in one day, ending in Louisville! New Orleans is famously known in China for "New Orleans grilled wings" β a misunderstanding that makes Americans laugh π. But Kentuckyβs fame because of KFC is no joke π! The headquarters of KFC is indeed located in Louisville. Below is a photo of the famous KFC Yum! Center, home stadium of the Louisville Cardinals. NCAA (National Collegiate Athletic Association) championships are a big deal in the U.S. ππβΎ. Even without an NBA team, Louisville boasts a powerful NCAA basketball team β the Louisville Cardinals, who won the national championship in 2017! π Across from the KFC Yum! Center flows the Ohio River, where a massive riverboat is docked π’. Locals jogging and walking their dogs in the waterfront park greeted me warmly ππ¬. Visitors strolled along leisurely, enjoying the view. Louisville is a city with strong pride π§‘. Large banners of hometown heroes like Lincoln, Muhammad Ali, and Jennifer Lawrence hang from tall buildings β inspiring people to dream big and work hard for a better life β¨. I drove around downtown and passed the famous Joe Ley Antique Shop πΊ. I didnβt go in (a bit beyond my appreciation level π ), but I gave it a thumbs-up π. I also visited Thomas Edisonβs former residence and the beautiful Cathedral of the Assumption βͺ. Behind the church, a small square offered rest to unhoused people napping on the grass β may time be kinder to them π³βοΈ. New York has Fifth Avenue β Louisville has Fourth Live Street πΆπ΄, filled with great food and live music! I also explored Old Louisville, where gorgeous century-old mansions stand proudly ποΈ. My short day in Louisville left a deep impression β itβs a city worth exploring slowly and remembering fondly. #Louisville #59DayUSRoadTrip #SoloTravel #USATravel #RoadTrip #TravelDiary #AmericanScenery #KFC #NCAA
