For my 27th birthday, I celebrated at 71Above in downtown LA—a restaurant on the 71st floor with panoramic night views over the city skyline. 🎂✨ The menu is a three-course prix fixe ($107 per person)—starter, main, and dessert—with portions satisfying enough to leave you happily full. The flavors truly won me over. My Recommendations: 🥗 Starters Grilled Octopus – Tender, with a tangy cream sauce that’s quite acidic—great if you love bright, appetizing flavors. Shiso Chitarra Pasta – A lemony, garlicky cream sauce with clams and tomatoes. Surprisingly generous for a starter—almost a meal itself! 🍽️ Mains Pork Loin – So tender and well-balanced with Brussels sprouts, crispy pumpkin chips, and apple bits. A savory-sweet harmony that’s truly delightful. New York Strip Steak – Good, but more conventional compared to the pork. 🍰 Desserts Strawberries and Cream – A crowd-pleaser: berry sorbet, cream, and cake layers—safe and tasty. Chocolate Mousse – Had a slightly unusual aftertaste for me; not my top pick. The atmosphere is absolutely magical—even with some evening fog, the city lights still sparkle below.
