A 16-Year-Old Hidden Gem Deep in Ktown! Open on Sundays Too! 🏮

Hey LA friends, did you know that many Korean restaurants are closed on Sundays? I always forget! 😅 So whenever I go to Ktown on a Sunday, I end up scrambling to find a place to eat, lol. This time, I chose this spot! Just being in the plaza, you can feel the authentic Korean community vibe—it's so lively! 🇰🇷✨ 【Bossam + Braised Pig's Trotter Platter!】 My partner always loves these combo platters—maybe because true meat lovers can't stand to see meat as just a side dish! 🥓 This dish is torched right at your table with a blowtorch. Wow, it satisfies your eyes, ears, and nose all at once! The pork belly has the perfect fat-to-lean ratio, and the pig's trotters are so springy and flavorful. Wrap it with kimchi and lettuce for a bite~ Amazing! 🤤 【Grilled Mackerel】 The skin is grilled until crispy, and the flesh is tender and juicy. It's a pretty big fish, so it's definitely not just a small side dish! 🐟 【Stone Pot Bibimbap】 I absolutely love the crispy rice at the bottom of stone pot bibimbap, so I usually order it when available. This one is unique because they use purple rice! The sauce blends in perfectly, and when you mix it all together while it's hot, the aroma of the crispy rice is incredible. The ingredients are super fresh! 🍚 【Rice Cake and Dumpling Soup】 The broth is a clear Korean-style soup with a strong peppery scent—it's warm and slightly spicy, so comforting! 🥟 The rice cakes are soft and chewy, and the dumplings are packed with meaty flavor. The whole bowl is loaded with goodness! 【Pork Neck Bone Stew (Gamjatang)】 Remember those days when we were all obsessed with pork neck bone stew? It feels like you don't see it much in newer Korean restaurants anymore. The portion is huge, and they give you so much meat! In an era where a single pot dish can cost 60-80, this one is only 45... such great value! 💰 I was super satisfied! The Korean auntie was so sweet—she saw us struggling with our takeout and kindly put down what she was doing to help. So much love! 🥰 No wonder it's been open for 16 years. That's why there are so many memorable and delicious aspects. The area also has little Korean grocery stores with fruits and veggies—it's a fun place to explore! 🛒 Jang Tuh Bossam 857 S Western Ave, Los Angeles, CA 90005 What's your go-to Korean restaurant in LA that's open on Sundays?
